Community Connections Australia is continuing to provide all service delivery and support co-ordination services throughout the pandemic.

CCA provides essential services and will continue all services throughout the pandemic. We realise that this is a very stressful time for everyone and are taking a range of actions to minimise changes to supports. Some of these include:

  • CCA Senior Team meet regularly to discuss any COVID-19 updates

  • Weekly updates to all people and staff to ensure that everyone is aware of any evolving changes to the Australian Government Department of Health Guidelines as well as NSW state legislation relating to the pandemic

  • All Service Delivery and Support Co-ordination staff are in regular contact with people (and families) who receive support

  • Whilst our main office we have implemented a range of measures to ensure that services continue to run smoothly

We are exploring a range of technological solutions where possible to improve the way that we provide some of our services (such as video conferencing, peer support groups and technological assistance).

If you are wanting to make an enquiry about a new service please contact us on 1300 36 46 88 or email us at enquiries@ccoz.org.au

How will I be safe?

Our focus is on the safety of everyone through personal hygiene, social distancing and minimal community access. We have also provided additional training resources to all staff and run training hubs for people who receive services. In addition all staff will now wear masks whilst on shift.

We are following NSW Health guidelines which recommends - washing your hands regularly with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds and staying home unless you absolutely need to go out (and when you do go out maintaining a minimal social distance of at least 1.5 metres from other people). Keeping visitors to your home to a minimum and ensuring that any visitors also wash their hands. In addition, all staff will also wear masks whilst on shift. These guidelines apply to all CCA staff as well as clients.

If you feel unwell, please contact your GP, the COVID-19 Hotline and also let us know so that we can discuss what will need to happen. CCA will look at your individual circumstances and discuss what actions we will need to take and will always be guided by the current NSW Department of Health recommendations.

All CCA staff are have been advised that they are not to attend work if they are sick. If your regular staff member is sick, we will contact you directly and make arrangements for a replacement worker. If your worker is suspected of having COVID-19 we will be governed by the NSW Department of Health guidelines.

What are the NDIA changes?

The NDIA have increased the hourly rate for our services and increased the flexibility of people’s plans. If your plan is running low on funds you can request a plan review. The NDIA are also extending people’s plans during this time. If you are concerned about your plan, please contact us and we can assist you in lodging a plan review of extending your plan with the NDIA.

What about Support Co-ordination?

The NDIA have enabled people who usually don’t have support co-ordination to be able to access their core supports so as to be able to use these services. Please contact us if you need some assistance for a plan review or making sure that you are using your plan to its full capacity.
